With over 26 years working in every aspect of the industry, Jim has a passion and proven track record in the intricacies of the physical, financial and non-linear trading arena.  This experience creates the versatility and innovation to translate complex subject matter into actionable processes. Jim knows that to create enlightened strategies, one must first be enlightened. Jim is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Financial Economics.

 

Louise Burke Vice President, Aviation Fuels, Argus Media

Louise Burke

Louise Burke is currently leading the development of Aviation Fuels business for Argus Media. She has worked closely on a global level supporting airlines and suppliers initiatives, and has specialized in providing key support on value integration in the supply chain. As global head of the Aviation Business Development team, she works across all regional teams in Asia, Europe and the Americas to support the needs of the market.  
Ms. Burke began her professional career in the energy industry working for major oil corporations, Mobil Oil Canada, Alberta Energy Company, in Canada, and Petroleos De Venezuela in New York City. She performed both short and long-term analyses of energy prices and market trends. Following this, she worked in the financial energy futures and options industry as Vice-President for the New York Mercantile Exchange (now CME group) during its rapid growth in the 1990s.  In that capacity she supervised major energy and metals futures and options contract launches and supported efforts of the World Bank and the US Agency for International Development in developing free markets and hedging programs in commodity-sensitive nations.
Ms. Burke holds a BA honors economics from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of Business Administration from New York University. She serves as President of the Board of Directors of The Energy Forum, a nonprofit organization designed to increase understanding of energy issues, and is a member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). She is also affiliated with the SIPA energy program at Columbia University, New York as an instructor in the area of petroleum markets trading.

Carl Larry Performance Director, Corporate, Refinitiv

Carl Larry

Carl Larry is Performance Director - Corporate, at Refinitiv. He has been involved in energy trading for the past fifteen years covering all aspects of trading, research and marketing. Carl started his career trading Eurodollars on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange; moving to New York, he was the Director of Futures Research and Sales for ABN AMRO and Barclays Capital.  On to Houston, he worked marketing and trading energy derivatives with Citigroup and Credit.  Most recently he was a Principal Consultant, Oil and Gas at the consulting firm, Frost and Sullivan. Carl has provided commodity research and market insight to some of world's largest hedge funds and commodity trading houses, financial institutions and physical oil and gas producers. He is a frequent speaker on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, BNN Canada, China Central TV and various worldwide publications such as The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek. He has made several presentations for global conferences including; APPEC (Asia Pacific Petroleum and Energy Conference), Argus Crude Americas and at several OPEC meetings.
