Over the past 5 years we have conducted a survey each year, which tracks changing norms and trends in financial crime and regulatory compliance practice in MENA.
Following the launch of this year's MENA financial crime report from Refinitiv, we have analysed the results and highlighted key trends, developments and challenges that have affected the financial crime and regulatory community since the initial launch of this report.

MENA Financial Crime Report 2018

Surveys conducted in 2018, allowed us to track changing standards and attitudes around compliance and the management of financial crime, thus allowing compliance practitioners and senior executives the ability to benchmark their services.

Key findings revealed:
  • 50% of respondents have programs against bribery and corruption
  • 47% cite lack of management support for their lack of confidence

MENA Financial Crime Report 2019

On the 18th March 2019 Refinitiv launched the 5th annual edition of the MENA Financial Crime report. In this edition of the report, our researchers take a closer look at the trends that we have identified over the past five years.

Our analysis of survey results revealed the challenges faced by a evolving regulatory environment, and the increase in advanced technology as a method of coping with growing regulatory complexity.
