Neill Penney,
Managing Director and Global Head of Trading - Refinitiv
Neill Penney is Co-Head of Trading at Refinitiv where, together with Michael Chin, he is responsible for the Trading business at Refinitiv. The Trading business provides market data, pre-trade insight, execution capabilities, and transactional workflow solutions for the sales, trading, and research of foreign exchange, rates, credit, equities, and other exchanged-traded instruments. Refinitiv is one of the world’s largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure, serving over 40,000 institutions in over 190 countries. Neill joined Refinitiv in May 2013.
Neill holds positions on several FX industry committees. Currently he is Co-Vice Chair of the Global Foreign Exchange Committee (GFXC); a member of the London FX Joint Standing Committee (FXJSC); and a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's FX Committee (FXC). Previously he has been the London Foreign Exchange Joint Standing Committee’s private sector representative on the GFXC.
Prior to joining Refinitiv, Neill was Managing Director and European Head of Fixed Income E-Trading Strategy at Morgan Stanley until 2009. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Neill was Head of Product Strategy at FXall and a member of their Management Committee. Before joining FXall, Neill was Vice President at J.P. Morgan where he held several quant-related roles within their FX business.
Neill graduated from the University of Oxford with a First Class degree in Mathematics in 1991.
Mark Lawler,
Head of Markets Transformation, Planning and Markets Transformation, Corporate & Institutional Bank, NAB
Mark Lawler is a 27-year financial markets veteran based in Sydney working with National Australia Banks’s (NAB) as Head of Markets Transformation, Planning and Markets Transformation, focusing on driving the regulatory obligations for Markets. Prior to this role Mark held responsibility for 7 years as the Global Head of FX Trading, Corporate & Institutional Banking, at NAB based in Sydney.
Prior to joining NAB Mark spent 15 years with Bank of New Zealand (BNZ), based in Wellington, the last 6 years as Chief Dealer, FX Trading. Mark also spent 5 years with HSBC as Chief Dealer NZD Interest Rate Trading based in Auckland and Sydney.
Mark has spent the last 8 years as NAB’s representative on the Australian Foreign Exchange Committee (AFXC,) a representative forum under the sponsorship of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). Mark also represented the AFXC on the Global FX Committee in 2018, where Bi Annual formal reviews were undertaken on the promotion and enhancement of the principles presented in the FX Global Code. Mark has also represented BNZ on the New Zealand Financial Markets Association (NZFMA).
Mark has a MSc in Engineering Geology from Canterbury University, Christchurch NZ.
