John Richardson, Senior Consultant, Asia, ICIS 

 


Based in Perth, Australia John has worked in the global chemicals industry for over  20 years and has extensive experience of the companies, people and markets that have shaped the region into the world’s major chemical producer and consumer.

His responsibilities include leading the development of the ICIS multi-client business and authoring the Asian PE and PP price forecasting reports. John is a prolific industry commentator and is recognised globally for his balanced and independent analysis.  John successfully launched the ICIS training business in Asia and continues to provide a wide range of courses covering petrochemicals, oil refining, fertilisers and base oils. He has also co-authored the ICIS e-book, Boom, Gloom and the New Normal which examines how demographic factors and events in financial markets have reshaped the global economy.  

Before joining ICIS, John worked for the BBC and UK national and local newspapers.

Nigel Davis, Course Director, ICIS

 

Nigel is Insight Editor with ICIS and a Course Director with the company’s training business, helping deliver ICIS training courses globally. Nigel contributes regularly to the ICIS news and other ICIS websites including its special reports sections. The Insight column on ICIS news provides daily comment on and analysis of the chemical industry, its companies and markets. 

A graduate chemist with a Master’s Degree in Materials Science, Nigel has followed the chemical industry closely since the late 1970s, writing in many publications, including news and company magazines, encyclopaedias and specialist reports. For 13 years he wrote and edited the newsletter Chemical Insight. 

At various points in his career, Nigel has helped develop global chemical industry scenarios. He has been involved with UK government reports on chemicals sector sustainability. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) an organisation that encourages enterprise and creativity with a mission of 21st Century Enlightenment.
