Reza Haidari Director of Natural Gas Research, Refinitiv

Reza Haidari

Reza Haidari currently serves as Global Head of Natural Gas Research at Refinitiv (the Financial & Risk business of Thomson Reuters) – and is based in New York City. Reza coordinates and integrates research and modelling capabilities across teams of analysts focused on North America and European Natural Gas markets, as well as Global LNG.

Prior to his current role at Refinitiv, Reza was Director of Natural Gas, Americas at Thomson Reuters. Before Thomson Reuters, Reza was a Senior Natural Gas Analyst at Point Carbon, where he and his team developed Gas Market Trader North America, a fundamentals-based analytics trading tool for natural gas traders and analysts. He has also worked as an Oil and Natural Gas Analyst in the Financial Advisory Group of IHS PFC Energy. His focus at PFC was performing oil and gas market analysis for financial-sector clients, such as investment banks, investment funds and other money managers. Reza has served as faculty advisor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where he guided graduate students on a project focused on forecasting long-term US natural gas prices for one of the largest US asset management firms. He frequently makes presentations about natural gas markets to domestic and international audiences.

Reza completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia in Chemistry, and graduate studies in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). 

Shuya Li Senior Analyst, Natural Gas Research, Refinitiv

Shuya Li

Shuya Li is an energy fundamental analyst with seven years of gas and power modeling and forecast experience. She specializes in North American natural gas market regional supply, demand and flow fundamentals as well as basis differentials. Shuya joined the gas research team at Refinitiv in August 2019. She authors the North America Natural Gas End of Season Outlook monthly series and develops new gas market research content on Refinitiv Eikon. She also contributes to various research analysis including upstream E&P, pipeline infrastructure, end-user projects and cross-commodity commentary. In her previous role as Senior Analyst of Global Gas Planning at S&P Global Platts (PIRA Energy Group), she has conducted natural gas fundamental analysis, quantitative modeling and strategic scenario planning study. Shuya holds an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University and she received an undergraduate degree from Tongji University.

Xin Tang Senior Quantitative Analyst, Natural Gas Research, Refinitiv

Xin Tang

Xin Tang is the Senior Quantitative Analyst from North America Natural Gas team at Refinitiv. In his current role, he focuses on providing analytic insights into the fundamentals of North America gas market. He is responsible for US Lower-48 natural gas modelling, i.e. Power Burn, ResCom, and S/D Balance.  He specializes in translating the impact of real time data and events into price drivers. Previously, Xin was a researcher at Institute for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern University. Xin is currently based in Houston.

Geoffrey Lakings Strategist - Tailored Market Intelligence, IIR Energy

Geoffrey Lakings

Geoffrey is the solutions architect for IIR Energy and NG MidStream. Geoffrey has led key global electrification projects for IIR Energy in Mexico, Brazil, Africa, Inda and Middle East.

Previously, Geoffrey was lead architect of Walk the Pipe Suite which enables a user to visualize a Pipelie's SnD and Balance through multiple visualizations. Geoffrey also works with University Houston Bauer GEMI Energy Analysis providing the students with an overview of current market events and creating Energy Dashboards. In 2015, Geoffrey led a Cargill Analytical Framework for Energy as the Solution Architect and led 10+ Trading solutions implemented for natural gas market intelligence. 

Geoffrey resides in Houston.
