John and his team are responsible for ensuring that the Pricing and Reference data business of the company continues to meet and exceed its clients’ needs in addressing independent evaluated pricing, reference data to support operational and regulatory needs and entity data in support of AML and KYC.

Prior to this role, Mason was the global Head of Regulation and Market Structure at Thomson Reuters (Refinitiv) where he was responsible for MiFID II within the company along with other major regulations.  Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Mason ran European Enterprise Solutions for Bloomberg and was also their Global Head of Regulatory Reporting. Before joining Bloomberg Mason was the Chief Operating Officer for Core One Technologies prior to its sale to IHS Markit.

Stephen Hanks worked on the original negotiations on MiFID whilst at HM Treasury. He then joined the FCA’s predecessor organisation at the end of 2006 since when he has worked mainly on wholesale markets issues, including sitting on a number of ESMA task forces and working groups. Mr. Hanks co-ordinated the FCA’s work on the negotiations on the revised MiFID II framework legislation and the changes to legislation and the FCA Handbook to implement MiFID II. More recently he has been working on the implications of Brexit for MiFID II.

Beate Born UBS

Head Strategic Projects IPS, Executive Director

Beate Born is an Executive Director and Head Strategic Projects within Investment Products & Services at UBS Wealth Management in Zürich. She has spent many of her 12 years at UBS in Operational Risk running global regulatory initiatives such as MiFIDII and is currently leading the Brexit initiative for Wealth Management as well as a global platform program. In total, she acquired 14 years of experience in the financial services industry across Switzerland, the EU and Asia.

Previously, Beate worked for the Swiss consultancy Malik Management Zentrum St. Gallen and had her own regulatory consulting practice. Academic degrees include an MBA from Clark University, a DESS from the Sorbonne, an executive diploma from the Swiss Finance Institute and a certificate of advanced studies in Financial Market Regulation from the University of Zürich. Beate is currently enrolled in the Master’s in Sustainability Leadership Program at the University of Cambridge.
