Tim Baker, Global Head of Applied Innovation
Tim Baker, Global Head of Applied Innovation at Refinitiv, the $6B-world-leading provider of financial-markets data and infrastructure serving 40,000+ institutions globally, leads a team of data and research scientists, design and U/X experts, and software engineers across the company’s San Francisco, New York, London and Singapore Labs, applying new technology and innovative approaches to solve business and customer challenges. He is responsible for POC-development and validation using technologies including the API economy, cloud, machine learning, open and alternative data, and blockchain to lead the transformation of the financial-services sector. Prior to Refinitiv, he was Managing Director at UBS.
Joe Rothermich, CFA, Head of Innovation, Americas
Joe Rothermich is the Head of Labs – Americas for Applied innovation at Refinitiv. He leads innovation for our labs in San Francisco and New York as well as StarMine Research, a provider of quantitative models to institutional investors. The labs are applying emerging technologies such as machine learning, AI, and alternative data to create new tools and sources of insight for the financial markets.
John Walsh, CFA, Director, Strategy & Innovation
John leads business development for the Applied Innovation team at Refinitiv, the new entity created from the Financial and Risk business of Thomson Reuters. He is focused on bringing new content and analytics to institutional investors, leveraging partnerships with Alternative Data providers, Fintech startups, and large technology companies. John worked previously as a Management Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. He has an MBA from UCLA Anderson and is a CFA Charter Holder.
Sanjna Parasrampuria, Head of Innovation, Singapore
Sanjna Parasrampuria spearheads Refinitiv Labs in Asia. Refinitiv Labs leverages emerging technology to create innovative products using artificial intelligence techniques of NLP, machine learning and data visualizations for the finance and risk markets.
Sanjna has successfully led large corporations and startup companies across Asia by leveraging emerging technology, advanced analytics & data. Currently she is pioneering several artificial intelligence driven innovations in wealth management, financial crime and risk screening in Asia with a global network of 150+ data scientists, engineers and designers.
Geoff Horrell, Head of Innovation, London
Geoff Horrell is a Director of Innovation within Refinitiv Labs, and was involved in the creation and commercial launch of the Refinitiv Knowledge Graph.
Over the last 17 years he has created and launched numerous content products which are increasingly created with machine learning and NoSQL technologies. Geoff is based in London where he manages the multi-disciplinary Lab of research & data scientists, UX & UI experts.
Amanda West, SVP Innovation
Amanda West is SVP Innovation. Working directly with customers and partners, she is responsible for the operation of a global innovation program focused on emerging technologies - AI, Big Data, Cloud and Blockchain - and experimenting with new agile, early stage business and operating models in Financial Services.
Amanda has held a number of different strategy, innovation, proposition and marketing roles at Thomson Reuters and Reuters Group. She is passionate about the customer, a strategic thinker, driven by results and has deep appreciation of our business.
