Ruby specialises in corporate crime, bribery, corruption and financial regulation. She spent 13 years at the independent Bar before joining Freshfields in 2015. Ruby has represented corporate and individual clients across a broad spectrum of criminal and regulatory matters, with particular expertise in multijurisdictional investigations and matters with cross-border and multi-agency involvement.
 

James Swenson, Global Head of Risk Managed Services, Refinitiv

James Swenson is global head of proposition for risk managed services. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and has substantial experience designing due diligence programs complying with FCPA, UK Bribery Act, AML, and supply chain risk management. James has been with the business since 2006 having moved from Hong Kong, where he worked as a senior case manager to London in 2009 to oversee the company’s European expansion. James previously worked as a political risk consultant in Washington D.C, advising clients on political and security risks across Latin America and the Caribbean. He is originally from Virginia, USA, but has lived and worked in Mexico, Panama, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and South Korea. James is currently based in London. 
 

Daniel Thelesklaf, Director, Financial Intelligence Unit, Principality of Liechtenstein

Daniel Thelesklaf (Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Liechtenstein, has 20 years of experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Combatting the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Anti-Corruption work. After a career in the private sector as Head of Legal and Compliance in a Swiss bank, he joined the Federal Office for Police in 1998 to become the first Director of the Swiss FIU.  After that, he worked as consultant in various anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and anti-corruption projects and technical assistance missions for the Council of Europe, the IMF, the UN and the OECD. From 2008-2011, he was Executive Director of the Basel Institute on Governance and supervised the activities of the International Centre for Asset Recovery. From 2005-2015, he acted as Chair of the Anti-Corruption Network (ACN) of the OECD. Since, 2015, he chairs Moneyval, the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism of the Council of Europe entrusted with the task of assessing compliance with the principal international standards to counter money laundering and the financing of terrorism and the effectiveness of their implementation. 


Jacob Thompson, Head of Market Development Europe North, Refinitiv

Jacob Thompson is the Head of Market Development in Europe North at Refinitiv. In his current role, Jacob is responsible for driving go-to-market strategy for Risk Business,  including enterprise risk, corporate governance, customer and third party risk, and regulatory compliance, where he helps to shape the business direction acting as the voice of the customer.  Previously, Jacob was leading Thomson Reuters Governance, Risk and Compliance Sales for UK Financial Services. He has been in the Business Information industry for over 20 years.  An early embracer of technology, he worked on the automation of the London Stock Exchange in 1997 and launched the Dow Jones (Factiva) news API in 2002 before pursuing a successful career in technical solution sales and sales leadership. Graduating with a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering from University of Bath, Jacob started his early career working on robotics and automation at P&G and Unilever, before being drawn to the glamour of financial markets just in time to observe the crash of the internet bubble in 2001.  Jacob is married with two children and lives in the UK.
