Mr Tan, Deputy Group Head and Senior Economist at the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), is responsible for overseeing and anchoring the regional macroeconomic and financial surveillance of members’ economies, including issues related to the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation. He is amongst one of the pioneer staff of AMRO, having joined the office in 2011 when AMRO was newly established in Singapore.

Mr Tan has worked on various regional and country assignments with a leading role. He is the lead author for the conjunctural chapter of the AMRO flagship report (the ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook). From 2019 to 2021, Mr Tan was seconded to the Regional Studies Division of the Asia Pacific Department (APD) of the IMF, contributing to several analytical chapters in the APD flagship Regional Economic Outlook report. He was also the desk for Brunei Darussalam in the IMF.

Prior to joining AMRO, Mr Tan was with the Economics Department of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), performing as expert in macroeconomic surveillance and research of the global and domestic economy. Throughout his career with the central bank, Mr Tan was involved in various strategic initiatives of the department, including making assessments and policy-related recommendations to the government of Malaysia.

Mr Tan earned his Master’s Degree (with Distinction) from the University of Malaya in Malaysia and a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) from the London School of Economics in the UK. He has written several departmental papers while he was with the BNM, as well as journal articles, special feature article, and book chapters appearing in the Hitotsubashi Journal of Economics, the South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN), Bretton Woods: The Next 70 Years, MAS Macroeconomic Review, and several AMRO and IMF thematic studies and working papers.

Mr. Zeno Ronald R. Abenoja is the Managing Director of the Department of Economic Research (DER), which undertakes research activities to support the formulation of monetary and financial sector policies of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). He heads the technical staff of the Advisory Committee, which in turn provides recommendation on the monetary policy stance to the Monetary Board of the BSP. At the same time, he also heads the technical staff of the Open Market Operation Strategy Committee which is involved in the implementation of the interest rate corridor. He is also the Chief Editor of the Bangko Sentral Review.

Prior to his appointment as head of the DER, he was the Director of the Economic and Financial Learning Center also at the BSP. He also recently served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director for the Southeast Asia Voting Group (SEAVG) at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Mr. Abenoja obtained his Master of Arts major in Economics degree at the University of the Philippines School of Economics and Master in Public Administration major in Economic Policy Management degree at the Columbia University. 

Henry Ma is the Senior Country Economist at the Indonesia Resident Mission of the Asian Development Bank. Before joining ADB, he was adjunct faculty at New York University and the City University of New York, teaching courses in Economic Development, Macroeconomics, International Economics, Corporate Finance, and Econometrics. He was also a senior economist at the International Monetary Fund, working on Korea, Viet Nam, Colombia, Uruguay, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, and Afghanistan and served as the Fund’s resident representative in Honduras. He holds degrees from the University of the Philippines, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Nikita is a Quantitative Analytics & Data Feeds Sales Specialist at LSEG covering the Singapore Market. Previously she worked for Bloomberg as an Advanced Fixed Income Specialist for 3 years, and an Account Manager covering key sell-side clients here in Singapore for 1 year. Prior to starting her career here in Singapore, she was in Vancouver, Canada for 4 years where she obtained her Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance from the University of British Columbia. 

Anita Prakash is Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of President of Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Jakarta, Indonesia.

She provides policy and research support for bilateral and multilateral processes between ASEAN and its Dialogue Partners, the Trade Ministers meetings in ASEAN, the East Asia Summit, the Asia-Europe Meeting, and the G20.

Her policy research covers international trade and investment with a focus on GVCs and supply chains, and connectivity plans in Southeast Asia, East Asia, and between Asia-Europe and Asia-Africa. Her current research focus is on emerging economic architecture and supply chains in the Indo-Pacific.

Prior to her work at ERIA, she served as Director in the Government of India in the Department of Commerce and NITI Aayog. She was a Visiting Research Associate at the Graduate Institute, Geneva from 2016 to 2019. Important works include the plans for Asia-Africa Growth Corridor, and Asia-Europe Connectivity. Her latest work are the studies on ‘GVCs and Investments: Changing Dynamics in Asia’ and ‘UK-ASEAN Trade: Strengthening the Supply Chain Linkages.’ She is currently writing on ‘Regional Integration, Connectivity, and New Supply Chain Linkages in Indo-Pacific.

She is an alumni of Delhi University (M.Phil) and Australian National University (MBA).

TJ founded Curated Connectors following numerous engagements with MSMES both locally and globally, with the aim of helping them grow their businesses through strategic and curated connections.

His passion to empower MSMEs stemmed from his days with the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC), where he was the secretariat and managed the industry’s Responsible Care programme, being actively involved in helping SMEs adopt and implement. Subsequently as General Manager of Absotech, a local chemical distribution company, his engagement deepened as he chaired the SCIC’s SME Committee and represented SME interests at both the SCIC Responsible Care Committee and the National Chemical Management & GHS Taskforce.

TJ’s scope of engagement expanded when he took on the role as Director of the Asia Pacific MSME Trade Coalition (AMTC). With the mission to engage and empower the micro, small and medium sized enterprises in the region, he managed strategic development and organisation transformation, whilst concurrently strengthening relationships with AMTC stakeholders.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, TJ brings to the table a wide range of skill sets from strategic planning, organisational transformation, business development to corporate administration, events management, and public speaking. He enjoys engaging audiences of all sizes and has had the opportunity to share with both the public and private sectors at regional and international platforms such as the WTO Public Forum.

He firmly believes that every small business can impact and empower lives as they grow and flourish. Hence Curated Connectors was set up with the vision of Empowering Lives through Connecting Businesses.

In his ongoing work with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), he is also the Lead Consultant for the Entrepreneurship, Start-ups and Innovation (E-S-I) Knowledge, an exciting initiative and exploration of the E-S-I ecosystems where research, thought leadership and business practicality blend together in evolving synergy.

TJ graduated with a Bachelors’ Degree (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

As Deputy Director General, Winfried F. Wicklein supports the planning and delivery of Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) goals, strategies and work plan in Southeast Asia. This involves ADB’s relationships and public sector work (including technical assistance, knowledge products, and grant and loan projects) in ASEAN. It also includes ADB’s support for all sub-regional cooperation initiatives in the region.

With ADB for over 20 years, Mr. Wicklein has wide-ranging experience in the areas of infrastructure finance, private sector development, and country strategy and program coordination across Asia and the Pacific. Prior assignments included country director to Indonesia and Myanmar, as well as country postings in Australia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

Prior to joining ADB, Mr. Wicklein worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers advising on corporate mergers and acquisitions and, prior to that, for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization focusing on investment promotion and technology transfer.

A national of Austria, Mr. Wicklein holds a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Muenster, Germany.

Andrea E. Goldstein has a 23-year career in global governance, most recently at the OECD Investment Division in charge of Global Relations. He was previously Deputy Director of the UNESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia in Incheon (Seoul) and of the Heiligendamm L’Aquila Process (the G8-G5 political dialogue) Support Unit, as well as Senior Economist with the OECD Development Centre and Economics Department and the World Bank Group.

Andrea has published widely on emerging economies, his most recent books are L’économie des BRIC (La Découverte 2013) and Il miracolo coreano (il Mulino 2013). He also authored 40 articles in refereed journals and newspapers, and has a regular column on Il Sole 24 Ore.

Andrea is an Adjunct Professor at the Catholic University in Milan. He is also President of the Bocconi Alumni Association, Paris Chapter and participates in the activities of Aspen Italia.
