As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to take its toll on global economies, the economic activity in Sub-Saharan Africa was projected to fall to -3.3% in 2020, pushing the region into its first recession in 25 years.*
The region is expected to rebound this year (2021), however, growth will vary across countries and the road to recovery may be a long and difficult one.
