Alessandro Sanos is heading the global Sales Strategy and Execution function of LSEG’s Commodities, Energy, and Shipping holistic offering of market insights, analytics, and data management. Alessandro sits on the board of Refinitiv Holding SA and is the Managing Director of the Geneva office. Before joining LSEG, he worked for PwC in Greece, covering the shipping and energy market, and for JPMorgan Chase in the United Kingdom. Alessandro contributes regularly to leading industry events and financial publications on data and market trends. A guest lecturer on innovation and digital transformation, Alessandro is a member of the Executive Committee of GARP for Switzerland and the Chapter Head of Geneva for the CAIA Association.

Geir Olafson has 25+ years in shipping, building solutions that combines business intelligence with hands-on industry experience. Extensive network in global shipping. Geir is Co-founder and in charge of analytics, advisory and innovation at Siglar Carbon, helping everyone that has a stake in shipping to manage and reduce their CO2 emissions.

Paula VanLaningham is the Director of Carbon Research at LSEG. Previously, she worked at S&P Global for over a decade, most recently as the Global Head of Carbon where she played a pivotal role in the development of the Platts Carbon Market benchmarks and Energy Transition pricing strategy. Previously, she acted as the Managing Editor of the EMEA Crude Team, overseeing Platts’ North Sea, Mediterranean and West African crude coverage. Paula has a BA International Affairs from the George Washington University and a MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics.

John Kemp leads a group of specialist energy and commodities analysts for Reuters. His expertise lies in oil and gas, refining, energy policy, international trade, and the financial and foreign policy aspects of energy. Before joining Reuters in 2008, John worked as a senior analyst for Sempra Commodities, now part of JPMorgan. And, prior to that, he spent five years focusing on all aspects of the international economy as well as North American public policy for consultancy Oxford Analytica. John holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University.

Edward Gomersall is Refinitiv LSEG's global head of gas, LNG, coal and hydrogen research, leading a team of subject matter experts and modelers based across Europe, the Americas and Asia. With a background in energy reporting, consulting and research, he is an expert on global gas and LNG markets. Edward has worked on a wide array of projects across the energy value chain, including project development, contracts and pricing, finance and lending, trade flows and fuel competition. Earlier in his career, Edward worked for global research house Wood Mackenzie, shipbroker and consultancy Poten & Partners, and energy news and research provider Energy Intelligence.
