Michael Chin is Managing Director, Global Head of Trading at Refinitiv. As the business lead for Trading, Michael has oversight of our pre-trade desktop (Eikon), execution platforms, real-time data (Elektron), and analytics across equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities. He joined Thomson Reuters in 2014 as Managing Director, Global Head of Equities.
Michael has defined his 30-year career in financial trading and capital markets as an entrepreneur and visionary in the financial technology sector. As president and CEO of two successful fintech startups, he has a proven track record as an innovative change agent, harnessing technology and best practices to solve complex business problems with optimal investment and maximization of returns. He is recognized in the industry for creating ‘best- of-breed’ customer solutions, which incorporate his extensive background as a financial markets trader, salesperson, and technologist.
Prior to Refinitiv, Michael spent three years as president and CEO of Mantara, Inc., spearheading critical initiatives to successfully transform Mantara into the leader in developing ultra-low latency trading solutions for the buy- and sellside communities. Before joining Mantara, he spent nine years in executive roles at TradingScreen, Inc., most recently serving as president and global head of sales, and a member of the board of directors. It was under Michael’s leadership and vision that saw TradingScreen become the global leader in execution management systems across equities, derivatives, fixed income, and foreign exchange.
Prior to joining TradingScreen, Michael spent 13 years at JP Morgan and served as head of JP Morgan Investment Management’s Fixed Income Trading Group. During his tenure at JP Morgan, he held a series of regional and global trading and management positions, operating from New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore – including head of FX options trading for North America, regional head for FX derivatives trading for APAC, and global head of JP Morgan’s commodity derivatives trading business.
Kevin is the head of market structure and technology research at Greenwich Associates. He has nearly 20 years of capital markets industry experience with deep expertise in market structure, regulation and technology impacting the fixed-income, FX and equity markets.
Prior to joining the Firm, Kevin was with BlackRock, where he was a Director in the Electronic Trading and Market Structure group. Prior to Blackrock, he was a Principal at TABB Group, where he founded and led the firm's fixed-income research practice. Kevin also spent time at J.P.Morgan, UBS and Deutsche Bank in varying capacities.
