Leon Saunders Calvert

(Head of Research & Portfolio Management)

Leon Saunders Calvert runs the Research & Portfolio Management business at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) which services the asset management and sell side research community with desktop and workspace applications to support workflow around securities, macro-economics and portfolio analytics.

Leon was previously the Head of Sustainable Investing, Lipper and I&A Insights for Refinitiv (now an LSEG business), and before that ran the M&A and Capital Raising business line at Thomson Reuters. He joined Thomson Financial in 2007, prior to the merger with Reuters, to run Deals and Private Equity data. His prior experience includes running the research and data teams at Mergermarket (now Acuris, an ION company), a provider of M&A intelligence to the advisory community, and he started his career as an M&A Analyst at an advisory boutique, Regent Partners. He has a Masters Degree in International Management and a BA Hons in Philosophy and Literature.

Leon also provides pro-bono consultative advice to charities through the Pilotlight business executive program and through UnLtd's social entrepreneurs mentorship program. Leon is an Advisory Board member of AidHub, a platform for NGO’s, charities and companies to manage and measure their social impact initiatives, and an Advisory Board member of HighCastle, who use blockchain technology to support the issuance and distribution of securities.

On an extracurricular basis, he has had numerous articles published on film analysis through various film journals. Leon enjoys going to the gym, self-defense classes, and running around after his two young children.

Andrew Archer – Partner, Head of ESG Advisory at Investor Update

Andrew joined Investor Update in November 2020 after spending over 25 years in Investment Banking. His experience spans fund management, equity research, specialist sales, equity trading, corporate broking, capital raising and corporate advisory work.

He started his career at Mobil Oil before working as a Portfolio Manager at Barings focusing on the Natural Resources and Utilities sectors. Andrew then moved into Oil & Gas Equity Analysis at Bank of America and Commerzbank before being appointed Energy Industry Specialist in the top ranked Energy team at Lehman Brothers. He took the same post at Barclays where he spent 9 years and led the Industry Specialists Team as a Managing Director, before moving to Macquarie to perform the same role. Andrew has since worked with and advised the senior management and investor relations of many public and private corporates across Europe and the UK with a focus on ESG and Investor Engagement. He has a Masters in Investment Analysis and is a member of the CFA.

Kevin is a Vice President within the Activism and Shareholder Advisory Group at Goldman Sachs and is responsible for leading the ESG advisory efforts with corporate and investing clients of the firm. In this capacity, he works closely with the Investment Banking Division’s global businesses to deepen the firm’s knowledge, grow its capabilities, and enhance its client delivery across themes of inclusive growth and climate transition.

Prior to his current role, Kevin was a senior member of the firm’s Executive Office Sustainable Finance Group, helping drive the firm’s key initiatives including the development of the firm’s $750 billion financing, investing and advisory target, catalyzing innovative ESG financings, and expanding ESG and impact investing, among others.

Previously, Kevin worked in investment banking and asset management, as part global teams focused on delivering the firm’s full capabilities to entrepreneurs, executives and closely held businesses.

He has also served in an advisory capacity to many sustainability related organizations including as past advisory board members for the World Resources Institute’s Corporate Consultative Group and Closed Loop Fund’s Corporate Advisory Council.

Kevin joined Goldman Sachs in 2004 and holds a Bachelors’ degree from Lehigh University’s College of Business & Economics

Amanda (Klein) Shpiner is a Managing Director at Gasthalter & Co. and is a founding member of the firm.

For nearly a decade, Amanda has provided communications counsel and support to global investment firms in various stages of their evolution as well as private and public companies. She has significant expertise advising CLO managers, structured credit investors and direct lenders as well as private equity and alternative asset management firms.

Amanda has extensive experience developing and implementing strategic positioning, reputation management and media relations programs as well as advising clients on corporate developments and special situations, including shareholder activism and proxy contests, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning and personnel matters, complex litigation, and crises.

Prior to joining Gasthalter & Co., Amanda was a Vice President at Sard Verbinnen & Co.

She holds a B.A. in English from Emory University and minored in Educational Studies.
