Crypto assets and tokenized real-world assets are becoming new types of asset classes that retail investors and family offices are increasingly interested in.

A recent survey by the ECB found that 10% of Eurozone households already own crypto assets with an even larger percentage expecting to acquire crypto tokens by the end of year. In addition, in 2022 UK-based family offices have increased their exposure to crypto assets to over 3% according to a recent CoinShares survey.

With crypto assets becoming omnipresent, regulatory and tax questions become more pressing. Apart from crypto-native assets, through the process of tokenization, traditionally illiquid real-world assets are also finding their way to blockchain networks, unlocking financial value and creating opportunities for individuals and companies.

Leevania Naicker, Manager, Customer Success, Refinitiv

Leevania worked in the financial industry for just under a decade, primarily as an equity analyst. She joined Thomson Reuters (now Refinitiv) in 2016.

Over the past 6 years she has worked in the Cape Town, Johannesburg, Singapore and Amsterdam offices for Refinitiv in different roles within the Sales and Account Management organisation. She is currently a Customer Success Specialist based in Amsterdam. She worked in the financial industry for just under a decade, primarily as an equity analyst. She joined Thomson Reuters (now Refinitiv) in 2016. Over the past 6 years she has worked in the Cape Town, Johannesburg, Singapore and Amsterdam offices for Refinitiv in different roles within the Sales and Account Management organisation. Leevania currently leads the Customer Success team in the Benelux region.

Gijs Dirk Froling, Customer Success Manager, Refinitiv

Gijs started his career in the financial industry. Before joining LSEG, he worked in a Sales Support role at a credit rating agency based in Amsterdam.

For the past couple of years, Gijs developed his Cryptocurrency Advisory Service. His aim was to enable customers to easily, safely, and responsibly invest in cryptocurrencies, while maintaining 100% ownership and control of their account and investments.

His service supported clients in setting up, allocating, diversifying, and monitoring their portfolio without the customer having deep knowledge in blockchain. Gijs was responsible for strategies (depending on market conditions, switching from spot pairs to cross pairs) within his cryptocurrency advisory service.

Gijs joined LSEG this year as a Customer Success Manager Trading (Associate) in the Benelux region.

Antonia Eilander, MA LLM Crypto Corporate & Tax Lawyer, Founder @O2K

Mrs Eilander has graduated with Cum Laude an advanced international tax law degree (LLM) from Tilburg University, the Netherlands and also holds a postgraduate European Law degree from Portsmouth University, United Kingdom. Additionally, Antonia is a certified online trainer and has trained Fortune 500 companies and governments. She lectures in universities (e.g. Amsterdam University).

Since 2008, Mrs Eilander has experienced tax and technology from every angle: a law firm, multinational and tax authorities. She worked for AKD Lawyers Benelux, Thomson Reuters and IBFD. She became fascinated with crypto assets in 2020 and decided to focus her career on them. Antonia noticed that there was no proper international training on taxation of crypto assets. Therefore, as a founder of @O2K Netherlands she decided to create the ultimate online guide to international taxation and regulation of crypto assets together with Vlad Dramaliev.

Vladislav Dramaliev, MA Crypto Assets & Blockchain Expert, Co-Founder @O2K

Crypto assets and blockchain technology have been both a passion and a career for almost a decade for Mr Dramaliev. Since 2013, he has co-founded a number of startups in the industry, including the first bitcoin brokerage in Bulgaria and the first bitcoin-only charity in Europe. Mr Dramaliev has also launched two associations dedicated to the creation of professional communities around bitcoin and blockchain technology. In 2016 he co-founded and is still leading one of the largest crypto communities in Bulgaria - Sofia Crypto Meetup (13,000+ members) - the only one featuring a regular monthly event.

Mr Dramaliev has written numerous articles on blockchain-related topics and has given presentations on crypto technology, DeFi, underlying risks, regulation, and investment approaches. He will help you understand what the fuss around crypto, blockchain, and Web3 is all about, and prepare you for a future where crypto assets are part of everyday life.
