Dr. Soner Canko graduated from Istanbul University, received his master’s and PhD degrees from the Faculty of Economics of the same university.

In the early years of his career, he held managerial positions in leading international companies such as Procter & Gamble, Citibank, Hewlett-Packard and First Data. He became CEO of Interbank Card Center (BKM) in 2011.

While managing Interbank Card Center (BKM);

- focused on delivering new technologies on card and digital payments

- lead the country transformation of secure payments via Chip&PIN and 3D Secure

- managed all the activities based on cashless society. #BayBayNakit #ByByCash

- created Turkey’s Digital Wallet, BKM Express and Turkey’s Card Scheme, TROY

Dr. Canko left his position at BKM in April 2020, currently he provides advisory services to finance and technology companies.

Melih Murat Ertem, who was born in Erzurum in 1972, graduated from METU Electrical and Electronics Department in 1995. In 1996, he started to work as a Software Specialist in Turkiye İş Bankası IT Department. Ertem, who was the Assistant Manager in the Information Technology Department in 2005, was appointed Unit Manager of IT Product and Service Delivery Department in 2008. In 2010, he was appointed as Department Manager of IT Product and Service Delivery Department, and 2012 Assistant General Manager of IS Investment Menkul Değerler AŞ. He was appointed as the General Manager of Softtech Software Company on November 1, 2016. He has been working as a Board Member and General Manager of Hayat Finans Katılım Bankası since 15 June, 2022.

Melih Murat Ertem graduated from  e-MBA graduate program in Bilgi University in 2014 and is married and has three children.

Betül Aygensu holds BA in International Relations from METU. After completing her master's degree at the same school, she joined PWC Tax and Legal Services department where she worked on Banking and Capital Markets for four years.  She continued her career at Turkcell Communication Services’ tax department.  In 2007 she was an independent researcher at the Economics and Latin America desks at Beykent University Strategic Studies Center. She served as the Economic Research Coordinator at YASED International Investors Association (2007-2012) , as Secretary General at TÜYİD Investor Relations Society (2012-2017)and Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (2017-2021). Aygensu, who has certificates on development from Oxford and UNDP, speaks English and French and holds the title of SMMM. Aygensu is a former member of the Global Compact Türkiye audit committee. She took part in many domestic and international projects in the field of corporate governance. In april 2021, she has been appointed as the Compliance Manager at Şişecam where she focuses on compliance risks, internal legislation management, sanctions, ethics helpline management and creating an ethical culture in global locations.

As Koç Holding Sustainability Coordinator, Ebru Tüzecan oversees Koç Holding sustainability strategy under five priority areas that serve the SDGs: Transition to low carbon economy, diversity & inclusion, future talent, innovation and digital transformation.  Tüzecan is responsible for driving the efforts on Koç Holding ESG performance and reporting in line with TCFD and WEF Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics. In her current role, Tüzecan manages Carbon Transition Program, which is positioned as one of the key pillars of Koç Group cultural transformation roadmap to achieve sustainable growth.

She’s also coordinating the efforts of Koç Holding global leadership at Action Coalition on Technology and Innovation under UN Women Generation Equality Forum.

Tüzecan is a Board Member of UN Global Compact Turkey and Co-Chair of the Environment Working Group, Board Member of the TEMA Foundation and member of the TÜSİAD Gender Equality Working Group. 

I started my banking career at Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. in 2010 at Compliance Department. Between 2015 and 2021, I took on various duties as Sanctions Unit Manager, Compliance Manager and Compliance Officer at QNB Finansbank, Alternatifbank, Vodafone and Türkiye Finans Participation Bank. I became the Head of the Compliance Department at BPN Ödeme ve Elektronik Para Hizmetleri A.Ş. in 2021 and have been serving as the Internal Systems Director since October 2022.

As a member of the National Risk Assessment (URD) ​​Working Group operating within The Payments and Electronic Money Institutions Association of Turkey (TÖDEB), I have participated in the studies carried out since 2021. I gave trainings at the TÖDEB. I am certified anti-money laundering specialist (CAMS), certified global sanctions specialsit (CGSS) and advanced certified anti-money laundering specialist in audit field (CAMS-Audit).

Mehmet Tolga İncaz started his career at Fraud Department of  a private bank in 1995 as fraud investigator responsible for card fraud detection and prevention, with several roles from team supervisor to assistant manager until 2010. During this period, he served as member of Visa Europe Risk Advisory Committee (London,2009) and as member of the Global Advisory Council of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

He joint AML Department in March 2010 as AML Monitoring and Control Supervisor and held various managerial positions in Compliance Department. In 2014, he was appointed as Head of AFC Department and Deputy Compliance Officer. He participated in compliance related conferences and seminars as speaker and also gave trainings at different platforms.

Mehmet Tolga İncaz, who is one of the Founder Board Member of Mevzuat Uyum Derneği, still works as Financial Group Deputy Compliance Officer and Financial Group AFC Director  of a Bank. He is responsible for 7 companies in different sectors within the group. He is also member of the MASAK working Group of the Banks Association of Turkey.

He is Fellow Member of International Compliance Association(FICA) and holds ICA Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Crime Compliance. He also has CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) and CGSS (Certified Global Sanctions Specialist) certifications. 

Resume: Seray İmer works as the Sustainability Manager at Garanti BBVA. She has more than 10 years of experience in sustainability, project and acquisition finance, and corporate banking.

Seray İmer holds a BS degree from Boğaziçi University, Department of Economics. She leads the Bank's Sustainability Team. The team ensures that decisions and projects comply with the Bank's other policies within the framework of its sustainability structure and manages sustainability initiatives throughout the company.

Vural has 24 years of professional experience in Internal Systems (Internal Audit, Internal Control, Compliance) He worked in many projects and organizational structuring involving bank establishments, mergers and closures. Vural started his career at Türk Ticaret Bankası A.Ş. as an assistant inspector, managed the head office internal control activities at Fortis/TEB Bank, managed branch operations at Fibabanka, Compliance Officer, Data Protection Officer, Head of Internal Control at Odeabank. He still carries out consultancy and training activities related with internal systems. He is also General Secretary of Compliance Association which is established in 2020 and whose vision is to be a national and international reference center in the field of regulatory compliance.

I started my career at Yaşar Faktoring Internal Audit in 2008. I continued to work in Internal Audit at Vakıf Faktoring A.Ş. between 2010-2014. Since 2016, I have been working as the Compliance Director at Papara Elektronik A.Ş. I have 16 years of professional experience in Internal Audit and Compliance.

In terms of my education, I graduated from Atatürk University with a degree in Justice and from Uludağ University with a degree in Economics. I completed my Master's degree in Accounting and Auditing at Istanbul University's Institute of Business Economics. Currently, I am still pursuing my education at the Faculty of Law at Eastern Mediterranean University.

Akdag is the Public Policy and Corporate Relations Director of Borusan Holding and a Co-Leader of European Green Deal and Decarbonization Thematic Working Group of Borusan Group, comprised of company sustainability leaders of all Borusan Group Companies.

He has publications on many topics including ESG compliance, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), Turkey, the European Union, and transatlantic relations. He has been teaching compliance and government relations during the last couple of years and previously taught master’s degree classes in Ankara, while also contributing to masters and PHD degree classes of various universities including California Berkeley School of Law, The George Washington University.

Akdag is a member of the Board of Directors of Corporate Governance Association (TKYD) and Ethics and Reputation Society (TEID). He had been a part of the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State, Young European Leaders Program of the Japanese Government and Team Europe of the European Union Delegation in Turkey.

He started to work at the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) in 2001 as an Assistant Financial Crimes Investigation Specialist, worked as a Specialist in the MASAK for approximately 21 years and 7 months.

Although he worked in almost all units of the MASAK, he was assigned to the establishment of the Supervision of the Obligation Department to deal with the obligations brought by the Law No. 5549, which came into force in 2006, and worked within the scope of the duties and activities of this Department. At the same time, he was attended as a trainer/speaker  in more than 100 training and awareness-raising activities for the implementing units (especially financial sector obliged parties such as finance, factoring, leasing, payment and electronic money institutions).

He has 6 articles published in the important and peer-reviewed sectoral journals of our country, and during his duty he contributed to the legislative and practical publications of the MASAK.

Between 2016-2021, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Finance Experts for 3 consecutive terms.

Currently, through the consultancy and training company he founded on his own behalf, he provides consultancy and training services to the obliged parties within the scope of preventive measures in order to prevent the formation of crimes of money laundering (AML), financing of terrorism (CFT) and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (CPF). He is the coordinator of the MASAK Committee of the Electronic Money and Payment Institutions Association of Turkey.

Burcu Tumer is working as a Partner at TBL Legal. Prior to TBL Legal, she has worked in different leading law firms and global IT companies where she had different positions, including regional responsibilities, particularly in Middle East and Africa, as well as francophone countries.

She currently provides legal consultancy to her clients in the fields of emerging technologies. Her areas of expertise include Web3, blockchain technologies, smart contracts, FinTech, digital assets and Legal Tech. She regularly runs training sessions under Fintech Istanbul Academy and participates to webinar events on key trends and developments across technology sector.

She is a member of Blockchain Turkey Platform and executive board member of Union of Turkish Bar Associations/ FinTech Committee. 

Burcu Tumer had graduated from Bilkent University, Faculty of Law in 2009. She speaks English and French fluently.”

Bio: Dr. İlker Koç works as the Head of Department at the BRSA. He has 20 years of banking and finance experience. He has worked in different departments of the BRSA in the fields of financial reporting, IT audit, enforcement and regulation. His areas of expertise include data management, risk modelling, IT governance, participation banking, housing finance and climate related financial risks. He has been leading the BRSA sustainable banking team since 2021. He has published academic studies in the fields of econometrics and financial mathematics. İlker Koç is a member of the Sustainable Scientific Committee of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, and the BRSA representative in international organizations such as IFSB, AAOIFI and SBFN.
