S&P Global and Refinitiv Outlook On Energy Forum 2022

Simon Wilson is the Global Head of Oil Markets at Refinitiv overseeing the strategy, development and growth of oil markets business at the company. Before taking on the Oil markets business, Simon has previously also been responsible for the commodities and energy business in Asia for Thomson Reuters and worked as a consultant in the industry. Simon holds an MBA from London Business School and an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong.

With 25 years of commodity trading experience in Crude Oil, Refined Products and Shipping, Mr Mitchell brings a unique breadth and depth of knowledge to the oil patch. He started his trading career managing eight traders and all of the futures and options from three divisions within Cargill. When the opportunity arose to be one of the founding members of the weather derivative industry, Jim had to be there on the cutting edge of technology. As this new hedging instrument grew in popularity, the oil market called and Shell Oil was at the forefront. As both a physical and financial trader at STUSCO (Shell Trading US), Jim learned how to trade across the barrel. Since then, Jim has lead investment teams in the acquisition of land, equipment and ship docks and even had a stint at a Price Reporting Agency. Jim currently runs the Americas Oil Analytical Group for Refinitiv. He has a degree in Financial Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Jack Winters is a North American Natural Gas Manager currently overseeing the North American natural gas supply, demand and price forecasts and is based in Denver, CO. In his current role, Mr. Winters focuses on market fundamentals pertaining to both the short and long-term outlooks for North America in addition to leading the North American regional analytics team for S&P Global. Before his current role, Mr. Winters was the lead analyst for various regional markets, which included the Southeast, Texas, West and Rockies with time also spent on the Northeast region focusing on infrastructure projects. Prior to S&P Global, Mr. Winters worked in Chicago at Morgan Stanley, where he specialized in individual wealth management. Mr. Winters holds bachelor’s degrees in Statistics and Economics from Loyola University Chicago.

Arsalan leads the low carbon commodities team at S&P Global Commodity Insights and works with the rest of the Carbon team to build out our low carbon price offerings. Prior to joining the Carbon team, Arsalan was part of the North American Natural Gas team with a primary focus on developing markets such as Mexico and Brazil. In his previous role he also worked on the development of the worlds-first Hydrogen assessment as well as aided the team in the development of the Low Carbon Gas price offerings. Arsalan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a focus in Energy from The University of Texas at Austin.
