Dong Soon Choi (Senior Analyst) leads the forecasting of area, yield and production of several major grain and oilseed crops in the U.S., Canada, Brazil and Argentina for Refinitiv Agriculture Research. Prior to joining Refinitiv/Thomson Reuters he worked at LG Economic Research Institute as a senior agricultural and natural resource economist in charge of microeconomic research and market analysis for LG Corporation. Dong Soon earned his undergraduate degree from New York University and completed graduate studies at Columbia University and Penn State University.
Isaac Hankes
Senior Weather Research Analyst

Isaac Hankes is Senior Weather Research Analyst within the Agriculture and Weather Research team at Refinitiv. Prior to joining the team in 2016, he completed a B.S. in Meteorology from St. Cloud State in 2007 before graduating from the University of Illinois with a M.S. (2009) and Ph.D. (2014) in Atmospheric Science. At Refinitiv, Isaac leads the forecasting efforts of the Weather Research team, focusing on applied short (days), medium (weeks), and long range (months) forecasting in the Agriculture Weather Dashboard and Cross-Asset Weather Application in Eikon. He also conducts research for use in seasonal prediction, and collaborates with other teams on various weather applications. The Weather team produces in excess of 50 weather commentary reports per week, while also having a significant role in developing the weather data, charts, tables, and maps shown all throughout Eikon.

Orlando Rodriguez is a Market Analyst in the Agriculture Research team at Refinitiv. Orlando holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Zamorano University and a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Horticulture from Purdue University. Before joining Refinitiv, Orlando worked in the agricultural banking industry in Latin America and possesses research experience in the financial and economic farmers’ decision-making process in the U.S. Orlando’s work at Refinitiv focuses on the demand side analysis for corn, wheat, and soybeans..
